1. Wrapping paper or gift bags?
Both.
2. Real tree or artificial?
Artificial; I tried to do the real tree thing for a while but tired of it.
3. When do you put up the tree?
If it was up to me, 2 weeks before Xmas, but Mrs. B usually puts it up right after Thanksgiving. She'd put it up sooner, but years ago I convinced her to hold off.
4. When do you take the tree down?
Usually not long after New Year's, no more than 1-2 days.
5. Do you like eggnog?
Sure!
6. Favorite gifts received as a child?
Oh, gosh, hard to name just one. Spirographs, Major Matt Mason stuff, Captain Action dolls, records when I got older.
7. Hardest person to buy for?
My mother. She has no hobbies, has everything she needs, and if she doesn't have something, she can go out and buy it for herself. It's an ordeal every year to come up with something...but hey, it's my Ma! I try hard every year.
8. Easiest person to buy for?
My son, I guess; we have similar tastes in stuff.
9. Do you have a nativity scene?
A small stuffed cloth one, somewhere.
10. Mail or email Christmas cards?
Mail, although I don't think we sent any out last year.
11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received?
My wife's large family's Xmas get-togethers usually have people bringing gifts addressed to "man" or "woman", and we pick accordingly. I picked a small box one year that contained a tiny plastic level, like you'd get in the dollar bin at a hardware store. A Charlie Brown Halloween moment if ever there was one. A junior high girlfriend once gave me a small keychain with an even tinier pocketknife on it. She was drop dead gorgeous, though, so I just chalked it up to "it's the thought that counts". That said, we broke up a few months later.
12. Favorite Christmas Movie?
Without a doubt, the 1951 Scrooge aka A Christmas Carol, starring Alastair Sim. Good enough to watch all year long.
13. When do you start shopping for Christmas?
As soon as I get money, usually in early December. I have bought gifts on the 24th on more than one occasion.
14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present?
Possibly, don't recall if I did, though.
15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas?
The traditional turkey/mashed potatoes/green beans/roll type stuff. I have a fondness for oranges at yuletide, as well.
16. Lights on the tree?
Well, of course!
17. Favorite Christmas song?
I'm fond of "O Holy Night", dating back to a version I had on an album by the "Magic Organ".
18. Travel at Christmas or stay home?
All my family lives in Horse Cave or nearby Cave CIty, so we stay home.
19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer?
Sure, can't you?
20. Angel on the tree top or a star?
The last few years, an angel. That can't be comfortable, though.
21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning?
Since the kids got older, Christmas Eve. Usually we head out early on Christmas morning.
22. Most annoying thing about this time of the year?
Hate to say it, but I get real tired of the decorations and music, especially since they start decorating and playing it so early.
23. Favorite ornament theme or color?
Don't really have one. Silver looks nice.
24. Favorite for Christmas dinner?
See #15.
25. What do you want for Christmas this year?
This, actually...but I'll take anything on this list.
26. Who is most likely to respond to this?
You, I hope! Leave me a link in the comments if you do.
